A list of supposedly best alternatives is of limited value unless the comparison matches the landlord’s work. This archive guide was reviewed on 16 October 2026 and replaces an unsupported ranked list with a practical switching process. It does not claim that one product is best for every portfolio.

Identify the reason for changing

Write down the tasks that the current arrangement does not handle well. Separate missing functionality from problems that might be resolved through configuration, training or a different workflow. Include the people who prepare accounts or manage records so that their requirements are not discovered after migration.

Landlord Vision is one alternative to investigate. Its own product information lists rental-income tracking, expense management, bank feeds, reporting and file management. These are vendor descriptions, not findings from an independent performance test. Confirm the relevant plan and any limits directly before subscribing.

Test a realistic example

Prepare a small sample containing a property, rent transactions, an expense and a document. Use fictional or appropriately protected test data when evaluating a service. Check whether the resulting report can be understood and whether corrections leave a useful history.

Ask who can access each part of the system, how accountant access works and what support is included. Compare the complete cost for the intended number of tenancies and users, including any introductory discount ending. Avoid choosing solely because a feature name appears on a comparison table.

Plan the exit as carefully as the entry

Before cancelling an existing service, establish how records, attachments and reports can be exported. Keep an independent copy and reconcile the opening figures in the replacement system. Agree who checks the migration and what would trigger a pause.

A successful switch should leave the records clearer and the daily work easier to manage. It should not depend on assumptions about automatic tax compliance or perfect data conversion. Use a trial to answer specific questions, obtain written clarification where necessary and make the decision against your own documented requirements.
