A useful software comparison starts with the work your team needs to complete. A numbered list of products cannot tell you whether a system will handle your leases, records and reporting without awkward workarounds.

Define the portfolio before the shortlist

Re-Leased describes a platform for commercial property management, including lease administration, operations, credit control and reporting. August describes a UK landlord product with rent tracking through Open Banking. Those vendor descriptions illustrate different starting points; they do not establish that the products are interchangeable or that either is the right choice for you.

Use the same demonstration tasks

Ask each supplier to show a representative workflow using sample data: setting up a tenancy or lease, recording a payment, handling a maintenance issue and producing the report you need. Record which steps are included, which depend on an integration and which require manual work. Use invented demonstration records rather than real tenant details during an initial trial.

Check the practical terms

Request a written explanation of the relevant plan, user limits, support, onboarding and any additional charges. Ask how permissions, audit records, exports and data deletion work. Verify required integrations directly rather than assuming that a familiar logo means every workflow is supported.

Plan the move before committing

Test an export from your existing system and a small import into the proposed replacement. Reconcile opening figures and document any information that cannot transfer cleanly. Keep a plan for access to historical records and a clear point at which the old and new processes switch over.
