Hausfeld confirms that Mark McLaren filed a collective action in the Competition Appeal Tribunal in June 2026 concerning alleged information-sharing by major housebuilders. Hausfeld and Geradin Partners act for the proposed class representative.

What is alleged

The claimant's case is that exchanges of sensitive pricing, incentives and sales information reduced competition and caused purchasers to pay more. These are allegations, not findings made by this article or a judgment establishing liability.

The lawyers describe potential compensation for qualifying new-build purchasers in Great Britain between October 2015 and 24 June 2026. Their published financial estimates are claims, not awards.

The CMA process is different

The CMA's separate commitments process addressed competition concerns without an infringement determination. Its published explanation also records that the parties did not admit liability or wrongdoing.

Readers should distinguish a filed collective claim, approval to proceed, a judgment and any eventual distribution of compensation. This archive update does not assert that the claim has succeeded or that any individual is guaranteed a payment.
