The Stow Brothers has added an Islington office to its London branch network, with a new base at 292 Upper Street. Property Industry Eye reported on 4 November that the opening takes the independent agency to six offices.
The agency’s own contact page lists the Upper Street address, and its public company updates confirm that the office is open. Its team page identifies Russell Gooden as sales branch manager for Islington. Those direct sources support the location and local team, separately from the trade publication’s account of the launch.
A new north London base
According to Property Industry Eye, the branch is led by Gooden on sales and Ashley Mitson on lettings. The business was established in Walthamstow in 2014, and the new premises extend its presence across north and east London. The report dates the launch celebration to 22 October; that event date should be distinguished from the publication date of the news.
For local owners and prospective customers, the useful development is another agency team operating from Upper Street. A branch opening alone does not establish how quickly a home will sell, what price it will achieve or whether one agent’s service will suit a particular instruction.
Questions for an agency appointment
When comparing agents, ask who will handle the instruction day to day and who provides cover when that person is unavailable. Request an explanation of the proposed marketing, the evidence used for the suggested asking price and how viewing feedback will be reported.
Landlords can also ask which services are included in the proposed fee and who will handle maintenance enquiries if management is part of the agreement. Keep the written terms beside the proposal so that the comparison reflects the work offered, rather than the appearance of the office alone.
For industry readers, the opening is a local expansion story. It is not, by itself, evidence of a wider recovery in transactions or a forecast for Islington prices. Assess those questions using appropriate market data rather than inferring demand from one company’s investment.
