Kieran Arthur has become sole owner of Newton Fallowell’s Peterborough franchise after buying out co-founder Jason Treadwell, Property Industry Eye reported on 3 November 2026. The local office provides sales and lettings services.
The partners launched the branch in April 2022. Arthur will continue as managing director, while Treadwell retains his other offices in the franchise network. The report says the Peterborough team and operating model will remain in place, with no immediate service changes planned. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Arthur has outlined an ambition to grow the business and recruit as demand increases. That is a statement of intention, rather than a completed expansion or a guarantee about future staffing. The ownership change should also be distinguished from a sale of the wider Newton Fallowell network: the announcement concerns this particular franchise.
What local customers can ask
For a seller choosing an agent, a change of ownership is a useful opportunity to clarify who will handle the instruction. Ask for the name of the person responsible for viewings, feedback and sales progression, and how another colleague will cover absences. A named contact and an agreed update routine can make the service easier to assess.
Compare the proposed marketing plan with the property’s circumstances. Ask how the asking price has been supported, which competing homes have been considered and when the strategy will be reviewed. Request the complete fee quotation and the written terms before making a decision.
Existing landlords and tenants can similarly confirm the right contact for repairs, routine management and urgent issues. Where a business announces continuity, keep the existing documents and ask for any proposed administrative changes in writing. Avoid changing payment instructions solely because of an unexpected message; verify requests through a contact route you already trust.
Judge the service on its detail
For customers, the practical question is how the branch will deliver its service under the new ownership. Clear responsibilities, understandable terms and consistent communication provide a useful basis for comparing agents. The announcement explains who owns the office; it does not independently establish how every future instruction will perform.
