The Openwork Partnership has selected four Mortgage Brain tools for its adviser technology platform, Mortgage Strategy reported on 4 November 2026. Openwork and 2plan mortgage advisers are to receive access to Sourcing Brain, Criteria Brain, Affordability Brain and Submissions Brain through an integration with Plannr.

The planned connection is intended to move client information between the systems as a case progresses. Openwork associates its wider technology project with a target of saving 60 minutes per client case. That is a stated ambition, rather than an independently verified saving for every adviser or application.

Research and submission in one workflow

The report says the latest tools provide decisions in principle from Halifax, Nationwide, Santander, Coventry, Leeds Building Society, Accord and TSB. It identifies Halifax and Nationwide for full mortgage applications. Availability of one stage should not be read as confirmation that every lender supports every stage through the platform.

Mortgage Brain’s own product information describes integration between its affordability, criteria, sourcing and submission tools. The practical value of the Openwork arrangement will depend on how the complete workflow operates for advisers using the connected systems.

Questions for the rollout

Before moving a live case into a new process, an adviser can ask which information transfers, where it is checked and how a correction is passed to the next stage. A successful transfer of data does not establish that the original information was accurate or that a lender will accept the case.

Training should cover exceptions as well as a straightforward demonstration. Missing documents, changed circumstances and a revised recommendation are useful examples to test. Ask what happens when a lender or product is not supported by the submission route and who deals with a failed transfer.

Measure the actual result

For a business assessing the change, compare complete cases rather than a single screen. Record time spent checking transferred information and resolving exceptions alongside any reduction in repeated typing. That provides a more useful measure of the workflow than treating the announced time-saving target as an achieved result.
